2 tbsp margarine
2 large onions, coarsely chopped
2 tbsp flour
2 cups water
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup skim milk powder
1/8 tsp black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Heat margarine in pan, add onions and stir over low heat until limp but not brown, about 5 minutes.
Sprinkle flour into pan and stir to blend.
Remove from heat and add water, then stir in milk powder, salt and pepper.
Return to medium heat and stir until thickened and smooth.
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Makes about 2 cups.
Goes well with meatballs, meatloaf or fried liver.
