1 lb fresh asparagus
1 tbsp butter
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup beer
1 well beaten egg
4 slices toast
Salt, pepper and paprika

Cooking Instructions

Melt the butter, add cheese and cook until thecheese melts.
Add mustard, Worcestershire sauce and beer and blend well.
Add a small amount of cheese to the beaten egg and mix well.
Add this to the cheese mixture and cook, stirring constantly until thick.
Cook the asparagus until tender.
Arrange the asparagus on the toast and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Top with the cheese sauce and dust with paprika.
