1 lb apples
3 ozs freshly made white bread crumbs
6 level tbsp golden syrup
2 tsp lemon juice
1 level tsp ground ginger
1 oz chopped crystallised ginger, optional
1 uncooked flan shell

Cooking Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375F, Gas mark 5.
Peel the apples and chop finely or grate coarsely.
Put the apples into a bowl.
Add bread crumbs, syrup, lemon juice and ginger.
Mix well.
Turn the mixture into the flan shell and bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
Can be served hot or cold.
